Julie L. DunbarI believe the law is a "helping profession" and my job is to protect my clients and help solve their problems.
One of my early influences was the great American novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. I was inspired by the strength of character of Atticus Fitch. To this day, I believe the law is a noble calling and requires a practitioner to be an example of good character to his/her community.
Certainly being a parent and spouse have been the crucible experiences of my life. I also take great stock in attending two wonderful universities, The
University of Michigan
and Wayne State University.
Traveling and reading are my favorite hobbies which, together with a strong liberal arts and legal education, have contributed to a broad world view of people and their experiences.My husband and I are excited to be charter members of Ann Arbor West Rotary. Rotary is an international organization of volunteers dedicated to the Rotary motto "Service Above Self". Rotary is currently waging a campaign to eradicate polio in the world! I feel a special connection to that mission because a favorite aunt of mine was a polio survivor. Our local club is focusing on both local and international humanitarian efforts including an orphanage/elder hostel in Sri Lanka founded by one of our members (who is a native of Sri Lanka). My husband and I hope to join a mission trip to visit Sri Lanka this summer as I have a brother and his family living and working there for the U.S. State Department. Life's coincidences are interesting, aren't they?
